Here we go. A whole season of Rice hating comments. Tiresome. Move on.

Yeah right, and look where that holy grail of a cup win took us...

You are missing the point, Declan did the right move

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Don't spout fucking bollocks.

The Charity Shield is a pre season friendly.

The Europa Conference is a bona fide tournament.

Turn it in.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
It makes the conference league a proper competition where you win your group and then have to win another 3 games to win the trophy.

Whereas the community shield, in Arsenals case, you are invited to play in.

Simple really. Ones a competition and the other is a preseason friendly.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Mickey mouse maybe, but what the hell do thate make the conference league?

Didnt take Declan long to gget another piece of silver, did it?
Would have been another 43 years at West Ham, so I don't blame him.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
I'll safely predict it's the only thing arsenal will win this season

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
It’s amusing seeing the Arsenal fans getting excited over this victory when they called the Europa Conf a small time trophy.

“ it’s a marker, it shows we can beat City “

You didn’t beat them though you thick cunts, it was decided on penalties and your equaliser came in the 142nd minute.

Fucking hate Arsenal.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Given he’s going to win so much there under the genius and pioneer Arteta, I’m surprised Rice is so excited about winning a glorified pre season friendly. “First trophy at the Arsenal” - what a load of bollocks.

He is a well oiled PR machine, and I accept he was going to and almost has to act the way he is, but the constant “I thought I knew football until” and “I’ve learnt so much in only 3 weeks” is tiresome and grating. He looked half the player in that weird position they play him in. He’s all action, and needs to be involved. Early days I appreciate.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
We needed players even if Rice had stayed. He must look at what’s happening and feel justified for moving on.

Who can blame him?

The English players at City are very exciting

Declan said during his interview that he has only been at Arsenal for 3 weeks but has learnt so much.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
We're all a bit bitter that our boy has left home.

More so because Sullivan has replaced him with nothing (so far) and it looks like another season of struggling with relegation after the springboard of winning a cup has been thrown away by our inept owner and stuck-in-the-mud dour Scot.

We're all in a shit state and we've not even kicked a competitive ball yet. 23/24 is looking like so many seasons past, failure to spend money generated by selling our best players, lies and opportunities lost.

One day all us old boys (50+) will be dead and gone and you have to wonder what the new breed of supporter will accept. Hopefully it won't be the shower of shit us obstinate cunts are used to.

He played ok I thought. Broke up quite a bit of their play.

second bit of silverware of the summer for him.

Full of shit twats bigged up by sky.. Arteta yet again showing what a complete wanker he is.. Rice.. Take a bow, what an absolute cock he has become already.. Shame on you Declan.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Why did they change the name was “charity” seen as offensive or not inclusive enough?

Although not much of a trophy to win it I like it (not that I watched it) the new season is here :-)

Leonard Hatred 11:19 Sun Aug 6
Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
If folk are going to mug off Rice after a Charity Shield* game, it's worth remembering that at last year's one, folk were chanting "what a waste of money" at Erling Haaland for not scoring.

*I don't like calling it "the Community Shield". It's the fucking CHARITY SHIELD.

I used to like Man City and their fans.

But, as time goes by, those fans are being replaced by the kind of people who support ManU and Chelsea

happygilmore 10:45 Sun Aug 6
Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
Historically, I had no problem with Man City. But this State Owned version that flouts all the FFP , with "new" fan base. No thanks

gph 10:43 Sun Aug 6
Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
I'd love it if this tranfer went the same way as Zaha to ManU.

(We end up buying him back for 30% of what we sold him for)

However, one substitution is not enough to persuade me it will.

Wils 10:36 Sun Aug 6
Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
What 147man said.

As big clubs go, I don’t have a problem with Man City either. Certainly not unbearable. Although often feel like I hate Arsenal with more energy than I support West Ham.

Re: The Mickey Mouse Shield
They were trying to play the rice pudding salesman further up field as rapey Partey was holding. Seems like a waste of a lot of money if you're hoping Muller Rice boy is gonna do anything in the final third. He aint got it in him. Break a leg Rice son, fucking snide.
